Spay & Neuter Assistance
Hendricks Humane is committed to helping reduce pet over-population, by facilitating options for spay/neuter services at a discounted rate. Periodically, based on funding, Hendricks Humane offers $5 cat spay/neuter surgeries and $10 dog spay/neuter surgeries (dogs weighing over 100 lbs have an additional charge) to Hendricks County pet owners. Hendricks Humane pays the balance of the full cost of the surgery.
Hendricks County residents can register for these by clicking the dog or cat sign up button below for the desired date. Cat sign up includes indoor/outdoor or outdoor cats that can be transported in a carrier.
Dates fill up quickly. We schedule as often as our Veterinarian has availability. Check back here often or follow our Facebook page for new dates available.

Pet Food Pantry
The Pet Food Pantry serves the dogs & cats of Hendricks County residents. Pet Food Pantry program 1) is only for Hendricks County residents; 2) supplements pet food for up to 4 dogs & 4 cats per household; 3) is meant to be for short term assistance, if needed beyond 6 months will be reviewed on individual basis; 4) participant agrees to not add new pets to household; 5) requires all pets be spayed or neutered (proof provided if already fixed) or we will help with those needing to be spayed or neutered. Participants are required to come in person, show proof of Hendricks County residence and provide pets' spay/neuter status at time of sign up. Once approved participants may request food once every 30 days. Please fill out this registration form if you need to sign up for the Pet Food Pantry Program. Pet Owner Assistance
Hendricks Humane offers assistance to Hendricks County residents who are not able to pay the entire cost of expensive medications, procedures or surgeries their pet requires or may need proper outdoor shelters, indoor crates, water dishes, collars, etc for their pets. Thanks to public donations we are able to provide partial financial and resources assistance in order for pet owners to keep their pets healthy and in their home.
We encourage you to apply to us and, as our funds are limited, we encourage you to also apply for CareCredit either by phone (800) 677-0718 or on-line at www.carecredit.com/vetmed .

Community Cats
We offer free TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) services. We work with low cost clinics for Spay and Neuter services for our community and feral cats. If you have cats in your area needing spayed or neutered or you need help with trapping them please fill out the form below. |
Humane Education
Our Humane Educators provide a wide-range of programs tailored to meet the needs of students in pre-school through high school, scout troops, book clubs, and community organizations. Just a few of the areas of interest that have been discussed include: Dogs Around the World, Responsible Pet Ownership, Safety Around Animals, Reducing Pet Overpopulation, and Respect for Wildlife. |
